Happiness Equals Success
We pride ourselves on our exceptionally high-quality pastoral care—a cornerstone of the holistic education we offer at Peponi House Preparatory School in Nairobi, Kenya. This caring ethos is woven throughout every aspect of school life. Our nurturing approach begins at Peponi House Kabete Kindergarten and continues through each child’s educational journey.
We provide a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and cared for. Our emphasis on child wellbeing, emotional development, and individual support promotes a truly nurturing atmosphere—delivered both formally through structured pastoral systems and informally through daily interactions. This enables our pupils to build positive relationships with their peers and with trusted adults.
The backbone of our pastoral programme is open and honest communication. Each phase of the school is led by a dedicated member of the Senior Management Team, including the Head of Pre-Prep (Years 1 and 2), Head of Juniors (Years 3 and 4), Head of Middles (Years 5 and 6), and Head of Seniors (Years 7 and 8). These leaders maintain strong, regular communication between pupils, parents, and staff—ensuring a connected, secure, and family-like atmosphere. This plays a key role in building student confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging within the Peponi community.
A unique strength of our pastoral system is the Form Tutor structure, consisting of both Form Teachers and Admin Tutors. From Years 5 to 8, every class benefits from the care and oversight of two adults. These dedicated tutors guide pupils in both academic and pastoral matters, ensuring that every child is known, supported, and encouraged. Our team is always available to speak with parents about any aspect of school life at Peponi House.
Ultimately, the happiness, mental health, and emotional wellbeing of every child is at the heart of everything we do at Peponi House.
