The original farm house accommodates the Second Master's Study, The Director of Studies and Exam Officer offices and the Common Room. Custom-built complexes house the eight laboratories, 18 classrooms, art room, drama studio and music rooms; there is also a capacious library, dining hall and sports complex.
Surrounding the dining room are the four boarding Houses. The junior girls’ Houses, Elementaita and Jipe sit to the left, the two senior Houses to the back, and the junior boys’ Houses, Chala and Magadi to the right. Each House has a resident nurse with a fully equipped sick-bay. In addition, each House has a kitchenette and a recreational common room.
The classroom blocks house each of the faculties and surround a large and fully stocked library. English is taught in Austen, named for Jane Austen. Each classroom is equipped with an overhead projector and mobile tables. The Crane (our Learning Support Department) share the building.
Mathematics is taught in Gauss (Carl Friedrich Gauss) and each classroom is equipped as expected.
The Science Faculty is comprised of three inter-connecting buildings: Darwin, Franklin and Newton. Every laboratory is fitted with chemical resistant benches and cupboards, and centrally supplied gas points. The larger labs are equipped with fume extraction hoods, and all the necessary safety equipment.
The Maathai Block houses teachers of the Humanities Faculty. Wangare Muta Maathai is a particularly celebrated member of our community as a renowned Kenyan environmental activist and a Nobel laureate.
The languages are taught in the Language Block, set apart from the rest of the School in order to provide the necessary quiet and sound proofing for the speaking and listening elements of the subjects.
The Vocational Faculty teachers each have their own block where the four subjects have all the necessary specialised equipment. The Art Block includes equipment for painting, drawing, sculpture, iMacs for graphic design, ceramics, printmaking and sewing machines for textile design. The Music Block has six practice rooms surrounding a large central music classroom. The ICT department shares quarters with the Science Faculty and includes two large laboratories with over 30 computers in each. The PE department has a large sports complex surrounded by tennis, netball, volleyball and basketball courts; and rugby, cricket, hockey and football pitches. The sports complex houses a 25m swimming pool, two squash courts, a fully equipped gym, a fitness centre, a classroom and an aerobics area.
