Action, Adventure & Service
Nature understands no jesting; she is always true, always serious, always severe; she is always right, and the errors and faults are always those of man. The man incapable of appreciating her, she despises; and only to the apt, the pure, and the true, does she resign herself and reveal her secrets. ― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
The President’s Award (The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Scheme in Kenya)
The President’s Award (PA) combines service, adventure and new skills for young people and allows pupils to show personal initiative and independence, working towards an Award, which is well regarded by both universities and employers. All pupils are expected to complete Bronze in Shell(Year 9), and we have active groups at Silver which involves the Fifth Form (Years 10 and 11) and Gold (Sixth Form) Award levels, encouraging pupils to involve themselves fully in the extra-curricular options open to them at School.
The Peponi School Expeditions Society (PESTs)
Through our school expeditions programme, pupils develop leadership, teamwork and decision-making skills while travelling extensively around Kenya and East Africa. By really engaging with another culture and a remote environment as a team they change the way they think about the world and their place in it.
Our knowledgeable team provides an extraordinary experience; pupils return from the trips more knowledgeable about the country within which they live and knowledge of bush-craft and survival.
