Prize Giving 2026: Celebrating Achievement, Character and Community

Peponi school Prize Giving Day 2026

Before the half-term break, the Peponi School community gathered for one of the most significant occasions in the school calendar: our annual Prize Giving Ceremony.

Prize Giving is an opportunity to celebrate achievement in all its forms and to recognise the commitment, perseverance and endeavour demonstrated by our pupils throughout the year. It is also a moment to reflect on the values that define our community and to acknowledge the many individuals who contribute to the life of the school.

The past year has seen pupils excel across a wide range of disciplines. Academic success, sporting accomplishments, musical performances and debating achievements all featured prominently in the celebrations, reflecting the breadth of talent within the school. These achievements are worthy of recognition, not only for the outcomes themselves but also for the dedication and hard work that made them possible.

Yet Prize Giving is about more than awards and accolades. It is a celebration of character as much as accomplishment. Throughout the year, pupils have demonstrated resilience, kindness, leadership and a genuine commitment to supporting one another. These qualities are fundamental to the spirit of Peponi and are every bit as important as success in the classroom, on the sports field or on the stage.

This year, perhaps more than any other, has reminded us of the strength that comes from belonging to a caring and supportive community. In moments of challenge, the values of friendship, compassion and service have been evident throughout the school. Pupils and staff alike have shown remarkable unity, demonstrating that the true measure of a community lies in how it supports one another.

As we recognised the achievements of our prize winners, we also celebrated the collective contribution of every member of the Peponi family. Prize Giving serves as a reminder that individual success is made possible through the encouragement of teachers, the support of families, the guidance of mentors and the strength of the wider community.

A special mention must be made of our Upper VI pupils as they prepare to leave Peponi School. Their contributions to school life, leadership and community spirit have left a lasting impact, and we wish them every success as they begin the next chapter of their journeys.

As we look back on the year so far, we do so with pride and gratitude. We celebrate not only what our pupils have achieved, but also who they have become.

As Ralph Waldo Emerson wisely observed:

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”

It is that strength of character, sense of purpose and commitment to others that will continue to define the Peponi community for years to come.
