Welcome to Peponi House Kabete Kindergarten

Kabete International School has been welcoming children into its wonderful garden setting since 1979. As part of the family of Peponi Schools, we encourage and stimulate each child to develop independence and confidence. We believe that a happy child succeeds; the welfare, safety and happiness of the children is at the centre of everything we do.

Staffed by a team of dedicated, experienced professionals, we provide endless opportunities for children to play, explore and discover the world around them. Within a child centred, nurturing environment, the children feel safe and happy, we encourage them to try new experiences and learn about themselves and others.

Our educational programme is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 of the British National Curriculum.

From the age of two, children join our Playgroup classes, where we encourage both child and teacher led play and allow the children to explore their surroundings and develop key social skills.
The children continue through the Early Years in Foundation and Reception classes, where they follow the Early Learning Goals and develop their ‘key skills’ to prepare them for the transition into Year 1.

In Year 1 children flourish as they enjoy and engage with their lessons. Across a wide curriculum we encourage children to develop broad skills with many opportunities for exploration, creativity and activity.

There is a strong and supportive pastoral framework running throughout the school. Class Teachers and Teaching Assistants take a close interest in the children’s pastoral welfare, fostering a sense of belonging and self-confidence through warm, positive relationships and close links with parents and home – a true family.

We are a happy and friendly school, where children thrive and develop the skills they need to embark on their individual educational journeys. We believe that childhood is a time to explore.

Our pupils take a passionate interest in the world around them as their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning is ignited through playing, questioning, discovering and creating. We look forward to welcoming you and your family into our school.
