Peponi House has a strong tradition in music. Pupils are exposed to a wide range of musical experiences with a class music curriculum that covers topics that include classical music, world music cultures, music technology and composition. Every pupil gets an opportunity to perform on their own, or in an ensemble, during the regular year-group Teatime Concerts. There are also several school concerts a year which feature various soloists and ensembles.

Peponi House has a school orchestra, as well as various instrumental ensembles which include String, Brass, Woodwind, Percussion, Jazz, Acoustic Guitar, Girls’ Pop Vocal Group and a Rock Band. All the ensembles are directed by experienced musicians who use these groups as an opportunity to teach techniques specific to their group. The pupils are also given the opportunity to form pupil-driven bands and dance groups.

The Senior and Junior Choirs are the mainstay of choral music at the school. There is also the reputable Peponi House Preparatory School Boys Vocal Ensemble which specialises in advanced part singing.

Peponi House hosts the annual Chamber Music Festival which brings together ensembles from various schools.

Peponi House is well equipped with a new spacious music centre and highly experienced full-time and peripatetic music staff. The music staff bring their practical experience as performers, composers and music industry practitioners which helps enhance the pupils’ musical exposure.

Peponi House and Peponi School also combine forces in their annual Peponi Schools joint concert showcasing selected musicians from the prep school, as well as the secondary school. The two Peponi schools work closely together in developing musical talent.
