Art & Design

We believe that art enriches personal experience. It contributes to the material and spiritual wellbeing of the individual, provides a sense of identity and stretches children’s intellectual ability and emotional responses. It makes children more flexible, open-minded and creative. It provides them with a visual language for communication, aids children’s comprehension of their environment and aesthetic sensibilities.

We believe Design is that area of inventive activity concerned with prescribing form, structure or pattern for a proposed man-made artefact or work, which depends upon acquired knowledge, analytical skills and decision-making.

Design is the way in which we try to shape our environment in its whole and its parts. Art and designing, whether for utility or for its own sake are inextricably linked. The teaching and learning of art and design demands an understanding of appropriate technology and its application.
