Weekly Updates week 12

Dear Parents

  • Exams: well done Year 8 children on completing your first full set of formal exams. Have a good rest this weekend.
  • Rounders: very well done to the girls for their efforts last weekend. Congratulations to Emma Boxshall, Niah Shah and Ria Patel for being chosen to represent Nairobi Schools. Well done also to the Under 9s who played very well at their festival earlier in the week.
  • Cricket: Well done the Under 9 boys, who were runners-up at the Under 9 Festival on Thursday.
  • Golf: well played our juniors who went to Hillcrest today and many thanks to Mrs Bhanji for accompanying them.
  • Swimming: good luck to the relay teams tomorrow.
  • Athletics: well done to all the Under 11 and Under 13 children for their efforts this afternoon.
  • PTA: what an excellent table top sale! Very well done everyone and particular thanks to Amina Benard, Tejal Dodhia and Jennifer Granskog.

  • And finally: Tuition. As you all know, we do not condone the use of tutors, unless requested by the teachers. Extra tuition causes fatigue, anxiety, confusion and it kills children’s creativity. Stop using tutors, please. They do more harm than good. If you do insist on forcing extra tuition on your hard-working and tired children, you must let us know so that we can inform the tutors as to the areas on which the child needs to focus. Thank you.

With best wishes

Robert Blake
