The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Peponi House is extremely active and vibrant. Being part of the PTA is fun and rewarding, and a large number of parents are involved in its many different aspects.
The PTA aims to enhance the school experience by:
- Organising social and fun events for parents and children
- Leading fundraising activities to support our nominated charities
- Facilitating two-way communication between parents and the school
Over the course of the school year, the PTA organises many social events including a Quiz Night, Sundowners evening, and regular Coffee Mornings, providing great opportunities for parents to have fun together and get to know each other.
The PTA supports four core charities: The Nest Orphanage, Kamili Organisation, KAWE (Kenyan Association for the Welfare of People with Epilepsy), and the Greenbelt Movement. In addition, every year group also has their own charity which they support and develop a relationship with throughout the year. Our fundraising events include the annual Peponi House Fete, the Fun Triathlon and the Christmas Tabletop Sale.
The PTA meets formally twice a term to discuss matters to do with the school and to organise our fund-raising and social activities. The PTA is made up of a core committee, teaching staff, representatives from each class in the school and general members. All parents and teachers are welcome to join the PTA – there is no limit on numbers and the only requirement is enthusiasm!
